This past weekend part of our prophetic team had the opportunity to prophecy at a Womens Conference held in our city. We ministered to about 50 women in about three hours. We started early, 9 AM, with a pre-brief meeting beginning at 8:15 AM, on a Saturday! Yikes. To us ministry is fun so we didn't mind the early morning schedule.
Regarding Prophetic Ministry it says in the Bible:
1Cor. 14:1,3 "Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy. 3 But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort."
The three-fold purpose of the gift of prophecy is to:
1. Strengthen-build up
2. Encourage - stir up
3. Comfort - cheer up
The prophetic gift calls out the treasures that are in people as we sense what God might want to say to them. There was major breakthrough in so many of the ladies. Powerful.
